My Role:
Severe weather warnings can be easy to overlook or ignore until a threat feels immediate. The challenge was to create a public awareness campaign that made weather information feel more visual, memorable, and actionable without relying on the conventional imagery and messaging associated with emergency preparedness.
The general public, with a focus on people who may underestimate severe weather or have difficulty interpreting weather patterns, warnings, and other visual signals.
I developed the idea that the sky itself is communicating with us, turning recognizable atmospheric phenomena into a visual storytelling system. Storm formations, lightning, radar patterns, wind, and precipitation became graphic elements that could communicate risk while creating a distinctive and cinematic campaign aesthetic.
I developed the campaign concept and overall creative direction, including the visual identity, art direction, photography direction, environmental concepts, information design, print, digital, social, and motion applications.

Outcome:
The visual system combines dramatic storm photography with weather data, bold typography, and graphic patterns inspired by atmospheric movement. Each weather phenomenon has its own visual language while remaining part of one cohesive campaign system.
The campaign extends into large-scale public environments through billboards, transit and outdoor advertising, educational installations, digital displays, and an immersive weather experience that allows audiences to interact with real-time atmospheric data and learn how to recognize severe-weather signals.
Print executions include posters, outdoor advertising, educational materials, and a field guide to reading severe weather. Digital applications include an interactive campaign website, social content, animated weather alerts, digital displays, and a short-form campaign film designed to bring the visual system to life through motion.
The campaign creates a memorable and flexible visual language that makes severe weather communication more immediate and understandable while demonstrating how a single creative idea can scale across brand identity, information design, advertising, digital, motion, print, and experiential environments.
